“You Are Under Digital Arrest” – The Call You Must Disconnect Immediately

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has warned the nation about it. Yet, every day, educated people are losing their life savings to the “Digital Arrest” scam.

Why does it work? Because fear paralyzes rational thinking.

Imagine getting a video call. On the screen is a man in a police uniform, sitting in what looks like a police station, with a CBI logo behind him. He says your Aadhar has been linked to terrorists or drug smugglers. He tells you that you are under “Digital Arrest” and cannot move off camera. They keep you on the call for hours, sometimes days, breaking you down mentally until you transfer your money to “save” yourself.

As a criminal lawyer, here is my blunt advice: It is all FAKE.

There is no such thing as “Digital Arrest” in the Indian Penal Code, the IT Act, or the new BNS laws. It is a term invented by criminals.

Real Police vs. Scammers:

  • Real Police will come to your house. They will give you a physical notice.
  • Scammers hide behind a screen.
  • Real Police will take you to a police station for questioning.
  • Scammers will ask you to transfer money to a “secret RBI account.”

Your 3-Step Survival Plan:

  1. CUT THE CALL. The moment they say “Digital Arrest” or ask for money, hang up. Do not argue.
  2. BLOCK. Block the number immediately.
  3. DIAL 1930. Report the incident to the authorities.

Please share this information with your parents. They are the primary targets of these heartless criminals. Watch my video below where I break down the lies they tell you.
